The challenge
To achieve modern seismic safety in a protected heritage building without sacrificing its historic character.
The engineering
Demolition and reconstruction of approximately 10,000 m² at third-floor level, around 200 tonnes of structural steel, RCC and CRM/TORKRET strengthening systems, and integration of modern utility systems within the protected heritage framework.
